We come from Clavé

Parish Church of Sant Cristófol

Suria

Sunday, 19 January / 18:00 - 19:30

Our country’s choral tradition is one of the most powerful in Europe, with a strong social presence and an iron health that has allowed it to go through all kinds of historical moments until becoming a symbol of the nation. It is a tradition that was born with a visionary character, Josep Anselm Clavé, whose birth anniversary we are commemorating this year. It was he who laid the seed of this valuable musical heritage that has been growing and enriching over almost two centuries, and which has also been a brilliant and luxurious vehicle for our language.

This program offers a selection of choral works by very diverse authors, starting with Clavé himself, continuing with references such as Nicolau, Morera and Millet, and ending with essentials such as Taltabull, Oltra and Saderra. The Granollers Chamber Choir will offer little jewels that will allow us to travel through time and grasp the greatness of this heritage, and we will have interventions narrated by Xavier Chavarria, who will guide us throughout the concert.
